Outdoor furniture for terraces and balconies

From folding bistro sets to lounge chairs, the right outdoor furniture makes a small balcony or a large terrace a place you want to stay.

Measure first

Allow around 60 cm of table width per person, and at least 70–90 cm behind each chair to sit down and get up comfortably. Folding furniture is ideal for small balconies.

Materials

Powder-coated steel and aluminium, as used by Fermob and Emu, are durable and light to move. Teak and other hardwoods weather to a silver grey unless oiled. Cushions should be brought inside when not in use.

Winter

In the Nordic climate, clean furniture and store it under cover or indoors over winter. Covers help, but allow air to circulate to avoid condensation.
