Finnish design legend Oiva Toikka’s iconic collection of Iittala glass birds took flight in 1972.

Combining his passion for nature and blown glass art, each bird is unique. This gives every bird its own personality making it a one of a kind art object. Mouthblown and handmade at the Iittala Glass Factory, the collection embodies a rich fusion of glassmaking traditions and Toikka’s partnership with his master craftsmen.

Birds by Toikka Mediator Dove is a universal symbol of peace that strikes a harmonious balance between simplicity and beautiful design. Her elegant body is made entirely of translucent glass covered with soft, wavy ridges that resemble feathers.
